The new Windows Live Messenger Mobile client (codenamed G2) has been in private beta for some time, and can only be installed on Windows Mobile 5 or 6 smartphones and Pocket PCs. The new version is a substantial update to the older Pocket MSN, with the mobile client now closely resembling Windows Live Messenger.

Some of the new features include:

• Nudges (your mobile device vibrates), and voiceclips
• File transfers
• Phonebook integration with Windows Live Contacts
